3 Reasons to Market your Home for Sale NOW!

Ask consumers (and Real Estate Professionals) when the best time of year to sell a house is and to a person, almost everyone will say in the Spring and Summer!  It is true, more homes sell during this time of year than any other.  Remember though, homes sell all throughout the year and sellers could actually benefit from marketing their home during the holiday season:

1. Supply and Demand - there are fewer homes on the market during the holidays.
Many sellers are thinking about making a move, but decide to wait until after the New Year to sell.  Some even attempted selling this year and have taken or are considering taking the home off the market until after the new year.  They don’t want to go through the trouble of showings this time of year.

I am here to tell you to put (or keep) your home on the market now!  There are fewer homes like yours for you to compete with to get buyers’ attention. Reduced supply means more buyers checking out your home, both online and in person. Well priced and staged homes this time of year will receive attention from serious buyers!

2. Serious (Motivated) Buyers
People who shop for a home during the holidays are serious about buying now.  Relocation, job changes, even tax circumstances can cause people to buy before the new year.  The reasons don’t matter.  What does matter is that a person shopping for a home now, is motivated.  This is a group of people sellers who keep their home off the market now will miss!

3. Homes looks their best during the holidays
People buy homes on emotion!  Take advantage of this by marketing your home when it looks its best.  Homes can be their most inviting during the holidays.  People tend to do more entertaining this time of year than any other.  Happy decorations are not just welcoming to friends and family.  Buyers enjoy them as well and this can be very helpful when it comes to them wanting to buy your home!
